Why build now?

With a strong team in place and a renewed vision to help families thrive, we believe we needed to expand in order to respond to the growing needs of families in Canada. Due to the vision and foresight of our board of directors, Focus Canada purchased a piece of land a number of years ago and events in the years following that purchase created the opportunity for us to start building our own home.

Until moving into our new head office, we had always leased space. Eliminating lease costs means we can invest that money back into ministry. We are convinced that God has brought many events together to enable us to serve families even more effectively and to have the capacity we need to grow.

How much are you saving annually in lease costs?

Since we were blessed to move in debt-free, we will be able to direct up to $400,000 annually back into ministry that would have otherwise been required to cover lease costs.

Where is the new office located?

Our new home is located in Langley, British Columbia, near the TransCanada Highway (Hwy 1). Our new address is 19946 80A Avenue Langley, BC  V2Y 0J8

Why Langley?

Our previous head office was also located in Langley. Thus, many of the staff lived in the surrounding areas. Staying in the vicinity was a priority so families would not need to relocate. We also wanted a location that was visible within the community and easily accessible to passersby.

What is the size of the building?

The building covers 24,000 square feet over three floors.

Can the building expand for future growth?

Yes. The building is designed to provide up to 7,500 square feet (or 30 per cent) more office space.

What is the total project cost?

The total project cost was $8 million.

Are you financing the building?

It was our desire all along to finish the building debt-free and we are thrilled to report that this is the case! We were incredibly blessed to move in with the building completely financed. 

Are you leasing out any space in the building?

No. It was the board’s desire to keep costs to a minimum and to not over-build. As a result, the building has been designed to provide the additional space required to accomplish our vision and to give us the needed capacity to grow.
